Earlier TextureLab workflow. Aether now brings TextureLab and xBake together.

What it is

Aether is the current home for xBake and TextureLab. I’m bringing texture baking and material creation into one Blender tool, so preparing a model, working on its surface, and exporting the maps can happen in the same workflow.

The material tools

The TextureLab side uses a live texture-space workspace built with Geometry Nodes. It combines procedural materials, image inputs, and geometry-based detail, with previews of the individual maps and the finished surface.

The baking tools

The xBake side handles source and target objects, batches of maps, naming, and output settings. Aether adds the scene setup and material-building work around that process, including source-map baking and material conversion.

Current work and earlier images

I’m actively developing Aether. The videos and images here are from xBake and TextureLab, the tools it grew from; they show the material work and workflow ideas rather than the latest interface.
